Timber & Tide General Store is grateful and humbled to operate in the ancestral and unceded territories of First Nations including (but not limited to) Quw'utsun (Cowichan Tribes), MÁLEXEŁ (Malahat), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), c̓uubaʕsaʔtx̣ (Ts'uubaa-asatx), xeláltxw (Halalt), Spune’luxutth (Penelakut), Stz'uminus, Leey’qsun (Lyackson), Diitiidʔaaʔtx̣ (Ditidaht) and P’a:chi:da?aht (Pacheedaht) Peoples. We acknowledge that local First Nations Peoples have stewarded the lands of this region since time immemorial.
The store is located in the original historic site of the Maple Bay Trading Company, in Hwtl'upnets (Maple Bay, British Columbia), just a 15 minute drive from downtown Duncan, BC. We invite you to come for your everyday essentials, grocery basics, local produce, baked goods, fresh coffee (coming soon), books, and a rotating selection of handmade goods and crafts from Vancouver Island artisans. Everything on our shelves is chosen with care, with a focus on quality, usefulness, sustainability and supporting our local community and visitors alike.
Stop in for what you need, run into a neighbour, discover something new, or just take a breather after the beach. Whether you live here year-round, are visiting for the weekend, or are just passing through, you are always welcome.
